First step in making a better Paula cosplay is, I believe, a wig. If I'm brave enough, I'll ask my roomie from last year to help me make a better dress. >_>

Paula is from Earthbound (and the blonde girl in my icon). ♥ I love her so much. :3 I tried to cosplay her at Anime Boston this year, but I felt that it could have been a lot better than it was, so my goal for next time is a better Paula!

Dunno if anyone on my flist would be interested, but a couple of friends and myself have set up some Twitters for Persona 4 characters. I'm Chie. :3 I can link whoever wants to see.

It's been... only slightly short of arctic here lately, and I was getting ready to leave for Skye's dorm so we could get dinner. (I also have a knack for choosing the wrong gloves for the wrong temperatures. >_>)

Well, today started quite nicely. And then Skye's bike was stolen. And then I learned that my great-grandmother fell down some stairs like three weeks ago and has bruised ribs to go along with her lungs that now have some fluid in them.

Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! In June I helped papercrownqueen hide a body (-173 points). Last Thursday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole jelly_fic's purse (30 points). In November I stole makichan's purse (-30 points). Last week I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). Last month grass_angel and I donated clothes to the needy (11 points). It's been a little while, yeah? XD My bad~ Though life is still good. I still get along with my roommate, Katelyn, which is awesome. I've only had one day where I overslept and rushed to class, though I was still on time, thanks to my handy-dandy bicycle! Have I mentioned that before? Skye left his bike at home because there wasn't enough room to take it up here when he moved in, but his parents brought it up for him later... as well as one for me! :D They just had an extra bike laying around that nobody used, so they're letting me use it, and it is super nifty. x3

Went home last weekend, and it was nice to see everybody. I was getting along with my younger sister, it was bizarre. O_o But also nice, and she gave me a bathrobe to use, which is cool. x3 Also got to have lunch with my aunt, uncle, and great-grandmother, which was very nice, since I surprised them with my being home again so soon. And~ next weekend is our kite festival~~ \o/ So I'm very excited to see the fliers who are coming, as it's been a very long while. And I didn't think Waltraut was going to be driving down again next weekend (since she's in Camas this weekend), but apparently she will be driving down, which means I don't have to spend money on train tickets after all. XD~


Finally, I've decided on a cosplay for Sakuracon, which I am most definitely going to attend, since I'll actually be in the city. x3

Her name is Rhyme, and she's from a game for the DS called The World Ends with You. (It was my first DS game, so much fun. =o)

So I got moved into my dorm and everything... It's actually a decent-sized room, and I like it a lot better compared to the rooms everyone else that I know has. They're all stuck in Mercer, and those rooms are pretty small. >_> And my roommate, Katelyn, is pretty cool, which is definitely nice. Apparently she built herself a computer for Christmas so she could play games on it, and it's going to end up in our room eventually so that she can educate me on video games. XD

So... we were waiting for dad to come pick us up, and were bored, so we went to the pool. But we were still bored, so we decided to play with our camera and plush toys.

Am back from Kumoricon! Had tons of fun~ Because we paid for VIP entry, we got to have dinner with a chair from Sakuracon, Richard Epcar (aka Batou from GITS), and his wife Ellyn Stern (of whose shows I have seen none). They were all really nice, and actually remembered us if we ran into them (and we did). x3

Jet lag uber sucks.


I'm home now, yay. Yesterday was loooooooooooong. We took off from Nagoya at about 3:30 pm maybe, and when we landed in San Francisco it was 9:30 am... the same day. XP We got back to Portland around 1:00 or so (I really don't remember). But I was so happy! Skye went to the airport with my family to come pick me up (which is great because he left this morning for Texas), and after that we went out and ate at Olive Garden. Got back home, said 'bye to Skye (he had to go home and fix some windows before he packed), and chilled the rest of the day.

The host family I stayed with was very nice, I enjoyed staying with them a lot. The mom was Mikiko, the dad was Yoshinori, and their daughter was Mika (but my host mom insisted that I call them 'mama' and 'papa'). They had an older daughter and son, but they had both moved out. I met the older sister (Aki), and I talked to the older brother for a minute on the phone. They were all so impressed that I spoke so much Japanese, but when I told them, "Iya, tondemonai da yo (no, really, I'm not that good)", they were even more impressed that I knew that phrase.

Most everyone that went was fun to be around, with the exception of about four people (but they were easy enough to avoid). We went to the Yamaha and Toyota factories, and met the Minister of Education in Hamamatsu (where I was interviewed for a newspaper). We also spent two days in Kyoto, which was HOT. We visited two shrines (which are Shinto) and two temples (which are Buddhist). They were very interesting to see. :3

And I saw a love hotel. But only from the outside. XD

I'm borrowing my host family's comp (they're all really nice, by the way, I like them a lot)~

Japan is pretty much awesome. But it's hot and very humid, and so all you do is sweat. XD I'm having tons of fun, and I promise to post more details and photos when I get back home. <3
